The Super Hornet is the latest evolution of the Navy's F/A-18 Hornet. The F/A-18E variant of the Super Hornet is distinguished from the F version in that it is a single-seater. Compared to their predecessors, both come with more advanced electronics and weaponry, stealth technology, a slightly longer fuselage and rectangle instead of oval air intakes. They entered service in 2001 and played a critical role in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

This handcrafted 1/32-scale model features U.S. Navy markings, the jet's hornet logo, and large hornet wings on its tail. The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet Mahogany Model has a 14.5-inch wingspan and measures 20 inches from nose to tail.
